Engagement party on the beach

Hopefully I've given you long enough to get through my very long post about our trip away. There were a few days left out but they mainly consisted of driving down to London, celebrating our engagement with friends Karen and Steve, who have also got engaged since we last saw them, celebrating our engagement again with Barbara and Ian and walking in the rain (always seems to happen when we're with Barb and Ian and their little King Charles Spaniel, Millie!).

Since arriving back in Australia we've been settling back into our routine, inspecting the furniture donated from the neighbour's house (yes, there was more than just the sofa-bed), trying to get our beach bodies back again (no mean feat after six weeks of covering up and eating rich foods), catching up with friends and family, trying to cope with the intense heat and humidity that we've had over the last week or so and, of course, planning a wedding.

We had a few friends round last Friday which was Australia Day and took the opportunity to celebrate our engagement (again!) - on the beach, drinking champagne. What a life. I do love Australia Day. Almost makes me want to become an Australian citizen. The weather is always good, everyone is in a good mood and you don't have to go to work. To have it on a Friday is the best luck... wonder what will happen next year when it falls on a Saturday?
